Today, there are a large number of blinds of different configurations, the main of which are vertical, horizontal and roll (fabric roller shutters). If vertical blinds are the most common option for the office, then the horizontal ones are universal for any type of room and interior, since they can be made of plastic, aluminum, cloth, natural wood or with drawing of an image.

Vertical blinds are usually fixed above the window, on the wall, like the curtains. Horizontal blinds can also be installed on the outer slope, and on the frame itself, attaching blinds separately to each light hole of the window. Thanks to this, it is much more convenient to open the sashes, because the blinds move without interference with the window sash. Roller shutters are also mounted directly on each light hole.

Installation of a blind with installation of fastenings on a wall, a slope or a ceiling.

Such a system is simple and universal. To the wall, the top slope or the ceiling above the window there is mounted the cornice for blinds.

It is important to understand that this option is best suited for installation of vertical blinds and a relatively small window opening. With a window opening of considerable length, such as on a balcony, such a construction is not very practical and convenient. The reason is that blinds, which are attached to the ceiling, can prevent the sash from being easily opened inside the balcony.

Ways of fastening blinds and roller shutters to each section of the window.

To install similarly blinds is possible both by calling a specialist, and on independently, having a basic instrumental arsenal.

Fixing the blinds on the window profile can be done using:

  • screws;
  • mounting brackets.

If you have decided to attach blinds with screws, it is mandatory that you make holes in the profile. At the same time, if you approach the case with the mind, the tightness of the entire window and profile in particular will not suffer. In the end, you will get a reliable and durable mount.
However, if you plan to later take off the blinds for capital clean-up or replace them with curtains, then the holes in the profile will be a significant disadvantage. To avoid this, it is possible to fix the blinds with brackets. They are fixed to the profile in various ways without the formation of holes in the frame.

Brackets are fastened with:

  • hinges on the upper part of the sash;
  • double sided adhesive tape.

The first version is practical, convenient and does not require any additional action with a screwdriver. Thanks to the shutter for the sash the blinds can be removed from the window in one action and without extra efforts.

The second option involves fixing the blinds with a gluing method. But do not think that the double-sided adhesive tape will last a few days and will safely fall away. This fixation is also very reliable.

So, whatever type of blinds you choose, and whatever version of the fixture you stop at, always remember that, besides external appeal and fashion trends, the convenience of operation and design reliability are also important. But to call a qualified craftsman or do the installation independently – it is up to you to decide.
