PVC windows to date are among the most demanded in the market for the construction of new housing and reconstruction of the old. Excellent operational and functional qualities of PVC windows, their durability, economy and aesthetics are appreciated by consumers. However, PVC windows will make glad with flawless and long-lasting work only under conditions of good manufacturing and proper installation.

The reliable quality guarantee of a PVC window is its conformity to specially developed normative and technical requirements that regulates the correspondence of PVC windows to certain parameters.

What normative documents should high-quality PVC windows comply with?

The main document, which specifies the requirements for PVC windows, is DSTU B V.2.6 -15:2011 “Window and door blocks of PVC. General specifications”. All technical requirements concerning materials and production of window structure are regulated by this DSTU and are mandatory for compliance on the territory of Ukraine.

According to DSTU, an assessment of the conformity of PVC windows and components offered by the manufacturer (the processor, the dealer) is conducted by their certification. The presence of a certificate of conformity is a mandatory document, without which the company does not have the right to work in the Ukrainian market.

The verification of conformity of PVC windows to the declared standards is carried out in accordance with the Technical Regulations and includes the following indicators: resistance to static load, reliability, resistance to heat transfer, sound insulation, air permeability, strength of welded corner joints, etc. (p. 9.1 of DSTU B V.2.6 -15: 2011).

When purchasing PVC windows, be sure to familiarize yourself with the certificates of compliance for each group of elements of the PVC window, which you must be provided by the manager of the company. Certificates are documents that confirm the quality and reliability of products.
